Someone sneezed.
The gentle breeze caressing the grassy plains had suddenly picked up in intensity but for a moment, and a swirl of drier soil had been kicked up into the air as dust, and it seemed a certain man had been unceremoniously assaulted by the natural forces. The brown wolf standing in the field raised a paw to rub at his nose, eyes watering ever so slightly from the grit. He sniffed, the man replacing his paw upon the earth below.
Perhaps a bit too soon.
Another sneeze ripped from his body, but it seemed to be the last one. He blinked his eyes to clear them, giving himself a light shake as the irritation passed. It seemed that dust had been a two sneezer, but that was all. A sniff later, and copper eyes seemed to be shining ever so brighter in the sunlight, clear from the clouded over look as one was focused on sensation instead of the world around them.
As warmth caressed his back like a mother's kiss, the brown man could hardly stop himself. It just felt so nice. A moment later and the muddy colored form was stretched out, his back arched as he bowed like a cat. His forepaws scrabbled at the earth as he stretched, eyes closing as his jaws parted wide to yawn, baring all of his many teeth.
Shaking the tension from his body, the man pulled himself back upright, leaning ever so slightly forwards as he flexed one hindleg, then the other.
Perfect.
Muscles more relaxed and body feeling more supple, the brown man cast his ever observant gaze about the field, sniffing the air lightly. He knew that his place was abundant with plant life, and with the pack's recent return, it seemed only right that he stock up on herbs and medicinal plants of all kinds. Someone had to keep everyone healthy.
A nose was lowered to sniff at the earth, to search among the many scents. The flesh of his muzzle twitched, and ears perked forwards with anticipation. Paws began to walk, moving the man along his chosen path.
It was almost humorous, the nearly eager way with which he seemed to move. He almost trotted long, looking like a pup for his visage of concentration and energy with which he tracked the scent.
Said odor tickled at his nose like the wisp of a lover's veil.
It almost made him want to sneeze again.
A few moments more of the brown man seeming to almost scuttle through the field, clearly set on tracking something down, and ears perked forwards as his focus narrowed in on a small clump of plants. Their flowers were a pale purple that seemed like the blushing of royalty in the sunlight, the texture of their petals as soft as rich silk.
Lavender!
The brown man quirked a smile, eagerly crossing the last several paces between him and the plant with ease, claws already beginning to dig into the soil as he approached. His head seemed to disappear from view in the field as he bent down, the light breeze caressing the grasses into obscuring his actions. Sunlight laid down upon the rich and vibrant greens like the comforter atop the bed, as warm as a Sunday morning when one wakes up to the first light of dawn, rested and invigorated to watch the glorious darkness fade to the gentle pastels, which are then emboldened by the rich colors of the morning sun.
It was all in all, a perfect day.
But for the soil being kicked up into the air.
They were only small clumps, admittedly, but it was still a contrast to the gentle and lovely day to see a brown man poke his head up from below the top of the grass, several freshly dug up Lavender shoots clutched in his mouth as he cast his gaze about him.
