Alpha Onyx made his way towards the center of his pack, he noticed how lush the shrubs were getting and how green the trees were getting. A small glint in his amber eyes flickered as he realized that it was going to be new leaf. A small sigh left his maw as he placed himself in the center of the camp, his eyes eyeing the dens as the leaves from the tress started to scatter and litter his camp with beautiful red and orange leaves. Something about New lead made Onyx excited and happy about it, maybe it was because after seeing everything turn burn and die out new leaf symbolized a new season and new start. Everything was lush during new leaf and prey was abundant, not like leaf bare where hunting was hard and scarce.
Hi rather large frame stood up his muscles twitching underneath his pelt as he started to make his way towards his den, there wasn't much activity in his pack but he wasn't losing hope. He knew that there would be a opportunity to make his pack huge and filled with strong and loyal wolves, after all it was new leaf and with this he knew he was bound to attract members into his pack.

WHO WE ARE TODAY The air carried a certain scent with it today in the breeze. The leaves were a physical sign too. The way they scattered through the air to land on the ground, creating a contrast of different oranges, browns and yellows. Ranulfr had taken a walk through the territory to get a drink. On his way he made many observations of the landscape and surrounding area. It seemed that the lands and forest was changing subtly. A new season was well on its way, thank goodness. The first signs of New leaf always brought that same thought into his head, more prey. The pack could finally go out hunting for bigger game now, well until the herds came back for the season. Even the smaller prey would be out. Arriving back to the pack camp Ranulfr could see only one wolf, the Alpha of the pack. It seemed he too was admiring the changes around the place as well. Walking up to him he dipped his head in respect and greeting. "Prey might be more plentiful this season." he said as he sat down next to him while looking around the place. His words almost sounded like he was filling in some information with his serious tone of voice. LAIKA OF ADOXOGRAPHY

alpha onyx Onyx couldn't remember when was the last time he had actually enjoyed new leaf with a fellow pack mates at all, it had seemed that his old life was history and the new leaves were sweeping it away and brining new memories to fill the void with. In which Onyx of did not mind since he didn't really want to recall the harsh times when the wars had broken out. But he still held a heavy heart because he knew he shouldn't have left his siblings by themselves.. Onyx shook those thoughts away as his bright yellow eyes caught movement of another wolf.
Oh yes he did remember him, he was Ranulfr one of his lead fighters, Onyx nodded back towards him as he sat down once again. He perked his ears listening. It seemed like new lead brought the good side of everyone. "Ah yes should be" Onyx agreed with him as his eyes shifted watching the leaved swirl as the wind swept them making them dancing around the camp clearing. "Once the herds start coming back to graze in the lands we shall organize hunting parties" Onyx said with a small nod notes : open to all (main thread) ♡

ELLEN THREE • NIGHT SHADE FIGHTER • FEMALE | | Yet another body was thrown into the mix of things already happening that day. And that extra body just happened to belong to Ellen. The red female was casually chewing on a stick, minding her own business, when she heard the back and forth of wolf voices nearby. Ellen stopped her idle chewing work for the briefest of moments, involuntarily eavesdropping, before she lifted herself to her paws. She began strolling towards the males at a leisurely pace, wondering what the newest news was about. Ellen had not been around the area for very long, and was still acquainting herself with things as she went along. This might be her chance to learn something, and she was going to take it. As she was walking up to the pair of them, the lass wondered if she should wait her turn to come forward and speak. She still had time where she could feign like she was looking for something and head in the opposite direction. But the decision had to be made quickly, for she was drawing nearer by the second. Her head shook once, nullifying the idea of turning round, and she padded forward as before. What would stop her from meeting the others? If they sought secret council with one another, that was what the dens were for. Them talking out in the open and her joining them did not seem like a major crime. If it was, they could string her up by her toes and use her very own chewing stick to play piñata. The likelihood of that happening was slim to none, but it would certainly be funny to see them try it regardless.
"Goot afternoon to ye gents,” Ellen started, her accent heavy on her words. “Mind if I join yer conversation?” The female’s tail wagged gently as a friendly gesture, and she positioned herself to the left of pair. Ellen gave them no chance to refuse, for her rump was soon planted on the ground, and her furred brows were raised in interest. The she-wolf was not trying to be rude or anything, but she was bold, as always. It was not arrogance or conceit that Ellen had; it was merely confidence and extroversion. The female had never laid eyes on Ranulfr before, so she could not place a name to his face. She did give him a simple nod of greeting though, and a slightly deeper one to Alpha Onyx, before settling in her chosen place further.

open your eyes With Spring came new beginnings; not only for herself, but for the budding world around her. The lands that were once blanketed in white lay before her splashed with color, a blank canvas brought to life by mother nature's artistic hand. The gentle breeze that caressed her fur, the light crunch of grass beneath her paws, the comforting shades of green that proved the flow of life through the land, it was all so... warm. Lapis welcomed that warmth alongside the gallant rays of the sun that peeked through the trees that stood like giants as she traversed the pack's territory, committing each nook and cranny to the map of her mind. This was her home now, however foreign it sounded, and it was only expected of her to learn the layout of the land like the back of her paw. It was the least she could do for the wolves who so selflessly welcomed her into their family. An array of scents lingered in the now still air, hinting at the presence of other wolves nearby. With the cover of Spring and its many flowery scents, Lapis couldn't make out exactly who it might be, only that they were more than one strong. With a sigh, she relaxed her tense form as she made way over to the others. You are no longer alone. She told herself in what felt like a constant reminder. Relax, there is no one here who seeks to harm you. Having lived life with her guard high at any given moment, never knowing what might come next, Lapis found it difficult to allow others past that that wall she spent so much of her life building. But now, things were different. Now, she had to trust in the safety of her home and those who inhabited it. When the three wolves came into view, she approached with nonchalance as she regarded them with a silent nod of the head. The Alpha, his pelt the shade of midnight, and two others Lapis had yet to meet‒ one who bore similar coloration to herself, albeit his fur much darker, and the other who appeared to be a single drop of the sun in all its fiery glory. Something about prey and hunting, all she caught were bits and pieces of the conversation as she neared, allowing half of a smirk onto her lips as she spoke, "Am I late to the party?" She asked, taking her place among them. "I'd sure hate to miss any juicy details."

She crouched low in the grass, her mother's tail swaying from side to side as she walked swiftly in front of the young pup. Her eyes sparkled mischievously and her paws twitched in anticipation. 'Just a little further' she thought and lowered her body further on the ground. SNAP! Unknowingly, Calla had settled herself over a patch of fallen leaves and twigs, and one by one they sounded off underneath her. "Dangit! I almost had it Momma" she huffed disappointed as she shook out her pelt and ran to her mother's side. "I don't know what I did wrong" the young pup ranted as she sat down in-front of the Alpha female. "Patience young one. You must always think ahead, back there you were only thinking about what is ahead of you, and what your goals are. To be successful one must carefully calculate a situation, and think of a plan to get her through the beginning, the middle, the end, and the outcome. Try again, this time I'm sure you'll get it"acknowledging what her mother had said, Calla scrambled unto her paws, dipped her head in respect, and ran to look for a new object of prey.'This time I'll get it. I'm sure of it'
The air was crisp. Squirrels darted in and out of the underbrush, desperately trying to gather as many acorns as they could for the upcoming winter months. In the trees birds sang the last of their songs, and as they sung a woodpecker sounded from not to far away. Autumn. That was the season Calla loved, and with good reason to. As she stepped out of the trees and unto the bank, the young fae lowered her muzzle into the clear water, and began lapping up the days first drink.
"Momma , how come the fish are so slippery? I can never catch them with just my paws" The young pup spoke in frustration as she continued to claw at the water. "My pup, fish are not just any prey. They are skilled, in the water when we drink they are watching are every move. Are we slow? Or are they just prepared for what's to come? One must not focus on just the fish. Focus on the water around them, watch them, do they swim fast and tactical? Or are they slow and less enthusiastic, then, once you have that down, you can simply look at one, pinpoint their movements, and -" Just as soon as the word "and" left her mouth her mother was pulling a golden colored fish and shaking it about. She bit off the head, and then gave it to her pup. Calla watched fascinated, waited for her mother to take the first bite of her portion, and then yipped as she dug in.
A fish swam past her paws as she drank, and Calla remembered her mother's words from what seemed like not so long ago. She was taught and molded into the perfect leader, though it seemed like she would never become that. As she lifted her muzzle into the air, Calla licked her chops as the last of her drank gave her some much needed energy. A smell that was very familiar, (in the sense that she knew what animal made it) had come across her senses, and she let a relaxed grin come across her face as she began moving closer to her packmates.

alpha onyx Onyx had already been planning on when he would go out to patrol, maybe then he would find some prey on thee way. He always loved hunting, it took his mind off of things and it made him concentrate on the kill. Hunting was like a stress reliever for him it was some sort of therapy in which he enjoyed and welcome and better yet it was thee season to hunt. Something about hunting just makes him excited maybe it was the thrill or the challenged? Maybe both. He always loved to chase the prey because he knew in the end he would b successful and would be able to bring it to his pack to feed himself and of course his pack mates which he considered family. His eyes shifted to the wolves emerging and placing themselves among him which caused a smile to spread onto his maw. Oh how he enjoyed the company of others.
He wasn't alone, no he had a pack and a strong one at that. He was sure that his pack mates would enjoy it here and some had already demonstrated a good sense of skill. He nodded towards each and every one of them a small glint of pride flickering in his deep bright pale yellow eyes in which they shifted not nervously but impatiently. Onyx wasn't one to sit around much, he had always had something to do, whether it was patrolling or hunting or taking to some of his pack mates about their concerns. Oh no Onyx was very social with his pack. He liked to get to know each and everyone of them because that's just who he was.
"Nonsense it's never to late to join in on the conversation" the male said with a teasing tone. "In fact all of you have just come in at the perfect start" he said nodding as his tail flicked fro and back. "We were just discussing about how new leaf is upon us and there is sure to be an abundant of prey". Onyx recognized his pack mates as they all crowded around. "New leaf means a new beginning the life of much prey, which mean there is sure a lot of hunting parties to plan out. Ah new lead.." Onyx said with a smile as he trailed off.

It was finally new-leaf. The snow had mostly melted, the grass was green, and the leaves were budding. Ash sat in the middle of camp, observing all that was going on. She saw Onyx and a few other wolves sitting together. She wandered over to listen to the conversations. It sounded like they were discussing a patrol. Humph, I don't do patrols, I hunt alone, she thought. Though, I suppose if I want a chance at becoming lead hunter, I suppose I had better earn respect by hunting with others. She walked up to the others and bowed slightly to Onyx. "If we need a hunting patrol, I'm interested in going out. If that's okay with you, of course." She hoped that Onyx would let her go. He probably would, seeing as how she was a hunter.

ELLEN THREE • NIGHT SHADE FIGHTER • FEMALE | | Ellen was pleased that she came and joined the group when she did. If she had not followed her mind like she initially wanted to, then she would have missed something important. This seemed like the first unofficial meeting of the Night Shade wolves, seeing as they all conveniently convened in one place at one time. Arriving there with perfect timing was like a stroke of good luck. Ellen’s chewing stick could wait for later. Nobody else probably wanted it, and it could not get up and walk, so more than likely it would be there when she got back. Or, if that was not the case, there were plenty more options to choose from. The new season brought plenty of new foliage, and also presented several opportunities for the pack members too. A short smile appeared on the female’s lips as she heard about the news of hunting teams. This ought to be good. “Well, that is certainly intriguin’ to hear about, glad I could make it then. Thank you,” Ellen said. Her tail was like a feather duster upon the ground, brushing back and forth a couple of times before stopping. So there would be no piñata action today, and part of the she wolf was grateful for that. What kind of pack would they be if they excluded their members from things, and then punished them for just wanting to be involved? No pack that is what. No pack at all. If that was how the pack operated, it would be disbanded before anything could get started. But that was not the situation here. Everyone seemed welcoming and group oriented, which meant all the world to Ellen. Those gray eyes of the female’s glanced about the other wolves, just taking their presences in. They were all so different in merely appearances alone, and probably personalities as well. Seeing how well they all meshed and gelled together was to be determined, but the prospects looked optimistic.
Ellen watched as the sandy furred female spoke her piece about hunting, and how she volunteered first for the patrols. Well, that was a noble thing for her to do, and Ellen could appreciate that. The red woman herself was not exactly a huntress per se, and mainly did it out of necessity, so good for Ash. Deep down, Ellen was made more for combat and the like, seeing as that was the Mackenzie clan’s strong suit. However, if she put the pedal to the metal, perhaps then she could hunt temporarily as well. It was not beneath her to help bring a meal home. Ellen firmly believed that eating together strengthened the bonds between families. Why not these wolves also?
“If you are in need of my hunting serrvices, then you can count me in as weel,” the she wolf said, words rolling off her tongue. “Protectin’ and fightin’ are more up my alleyway, but fillin’ empty bellies is certainly a goot thing too. Ye canna fight if ye dinna eat.”

alpha onyx Onyx was pleased with the outcome of the pack, this wasn't a meeting but it sure felt like it was. Just talking about hunting made a wide smile spread onto his maw. Something about hunting brought happiness to his eyes. Nightshade was known for their fighters but his hunters were equally as great. A small chuckle escaped his maw as he could feel his pack mates vibes. Everyone seemed to be fitting in for the most part he was glad after all what would be a pack if there was no trust. His head shifted towards Ash, "Of course you can, but why go alone take some one with you" the male said as his gaze landed on Ellen. "Theres a lot of prey in the meadow. Ash and Ellen you guys should go and see what you can bring back." He said. He always wanted his pack mates to communicate and socialize with one another. It never hurt to make friends here. A small smile of amusement fell on his maw as his tail swished back and forth

WHO WE ARE TODAY As Ranulfr sat he kept to himself and listened to the others as they spoke about hunting and plans for patrols. Patrols was something Ranulfr was more familiar with rather than hunting. The only time he really ever hunted was on large hunts that involved taking down strong prey. Looking at the faces sat around him, each one had a unique marking and colour to them. One had a fiery coat accompanied with a distinct accent that caused him to pay attention to more in order to fully understand. Not all of them he could really put a name to. "I'd offer to lend my assistance in a small hunt but I doubt I'd be of any use," It was true. Ranulfr wasn't very stealthy when it came to hunting for prey that was smaller than him. He was built up for muscle, not for speed so he wouldn't be able to keep up with something that had the speed of a rabbit. "I wouldn't mind joining an Elk hunt for when the herds come back though" That was something he could enjoy that came close to hunting. The idea of chasing and taking down the elk of the herd as you hear each one of their hooves beating against the ground was thrilling to him. Tag: The pack! // Notes: <3 LAIKA OF ADOXOGRAPHY

open your eyes It seemed as if the whole pack had come flooding in, and blue eyes shifted to each incoming member as Lapis committed their unique appearances to memory. More than not, it would prove useful to know who she could trust. One in particular caught her eye, a wolf with shimmering silver fur adorned by streaks of brown, as if carefully positioned and patterned by a skilled artist. Such unique markings were something you don't see every day, and if anything Lapis was sure that wolf wouldn't be slipping her mind anytime soon. Next came a wolf of ashen brown who offered her services in a hunting patrol. Opting to stay in silence, Lapis watched from the sidelines as the fiery female‒ Ellen, was it? Chimed in as well, earning both her and the other hunter a trip to the meadows. Hopefully they'll get lucky. Yes, with luck by their side, they'd return with a decent meal. After all, many of the herds had yet to return after the cold season. The large male who had been with Onyx initially shared in her silence, that was, until the topic of hunting parties and large game arose. Deep blue eyes slid to him as he spoke, watching and observing the pack's interactions before her. At the moment, Lapis had nothing to say, though she knew that if she was needed she would be called upon. So for the time being, she sat in silence.

ELLEN THREE • NIGHT SHADE DELTA • FEMALE | | The fiery red female felt a twinge of excitement run up one side of her body and then down the other. The prospect of being useful to the pack gave her the hope that everything would be okay here. She did not have to run away anymore from death and disease. The virus that had run rampant for a while seemed to have subsided. At least for the time being that is. At Onyx’s suggestion, Ellen nodded and stood to her paws, ready to head out. As soon as the meeting officially adjourned, then she and Ash could try to hunt something down, whatever it was. She did not want to miss a second of the meeting after just arriving though. Especially if something else that was important popped up. Ellen’s gray eyes looked to the charcoal colored female, in an attempt to communicate with her nonverbally. It was a confident look, one that said ‘we can do this’ without her actually having to say it out loud. Hopefully Ash got the message alright.
"That weel do just fine then,” Ellen confirmed with the alpha male. It was her first tentatively assigned task since she got to the Night Shade territory, and was actually happy to oblige. She was no pushover, and if Ellen really objected to doing it, then everyone would have known it by then. She was not afraid to raise her voice if need be, even with wolves that she just met. There was no fear in that. But that certainly was not the case here. Ellen essentially signed her name on the dotted line for this one, and was willing to put her hunting capabilities to the test. They were charged with bringing back food for the pack, and she would do it. Come heck or high water. After agreeing to hunting, Ellen then turned her attention back to the other wolves around, wondering what they would have to say about the whole situation. The she wolf glanced at Ranuflr when he spoke of elk and his contribution. Convincing him to try and join the first hunt too would probably be futile, and so the female left it alone. Hunting elk required great skill in and of itself, so when the time came, he would probably prove to be great help though. Curiosity flitted across Ellen’s face as she came rest her sights upon Lapis momentarily, but again she did not press the issue. It was not her place, and she would leave that to the higher ups. She was intrigued to see what interested the other female, but supposed she would find out in time. Perhaps if they spoke together later on, but there was no rush.

Amira The last cling of cold was finally making way for the freshness of New Leaf. The Shaman exited her den, making her way toward the camp's center only to find most of the pack already there. They were speaking of a hunt and while she enjoyed hunting, she did not pipe up about joining. It would be better if she stayed close to camp, should something happen to one of the hunters. Carefully, she studied the pack as she made her way through them. Everyone seemed in good shape at the moment. Well as good of shape as one could be after the winter.
She gently weaved between her fellows, coming to sit near the beta, Lapis. Not too close, for Amira liked her space, when possible. Being in everyone's business is all fine and good but not all the time. The prospect of hunting larger game came up and she felt her chest tighten a bit. A bunny might bite but an elk would kick your skull in. There isn't much she could do for that. But alas, the pack needed food and the dangers of the hunt outweighed the dangers of starvation. Or she tried to convince herself of that.
