So you want to be a scout?

Novices were the future for the pack, they were the ones who were going to protect the pack and rise it to its full potential. The young black alpha mad his way towards the plains, his paws sinking into the soft grass beneath him. His amber eyes scanned the terrain, it was still brown here and there but some areas were still green. It looked like leaf-bare was slowly taking its course but it was not fully green. He sat down by a tree awaiting Hex. So Hex wanted to be a scout?  It was good, the pack needed more scouts in the pack and a young one wouldn't be so bad
