| M aking his way carefully Ezra placed each step with care. This place was steep and the melting of frost in the morning meant that the ground was more slippery in the morning. He wouldn't normally make small yet difficult journeys like this but it was the closest source of water he could find and wasn't planning on risking an even longer journey. Besides, this place looked quite a nice spot to stick around for a bit. he had no idea where Jace was at this moment, probably hunting. That was when he came in handy, although Ezra was a large wolf already, Jace was practically his muscle for when things got bad.
Focusing his pale yellow eyes on the water he looked around to see if the coast was clear and no one was watching. It seemed that others underestimated him, though he had nothing they would want. Well, as far as they knew. He was perfectly aware of a couple packs living not far from the area, both of which he hadn't encountered so he had nothing to worry about. Leaning his head down to lap up some water Ezra took in a deep breath afterwards while moving back to his usual posture. Maybe this place would be a nice spot to relax for a bit, though he did have to wonder if it was safe.
Although the thought did cross his mind he was too old to care to be honest. If anyone was to have a go at him, despite his age, he'd show what was in store for anyone.

ELLEN THREE • NIGHT SHADE DELTA • FEMALE | | Ellen had decided that she needed to explore out of Night Shade territory for a while. She felt comfortable with the pack’s topography and layout by then, and figured she would expand her horizons a bit more. The fiery red female padded from within the pack’s base camp into lands belonging to the ravine. Her paw steps were light, and carried her frame at a brisk yet relaxed pace. The she-wolf’s muscles moved smoothly underneath her coat like clockwork, but now that the temperatures were changing, she would probably shed some of it to accommodate the difference. A thick, heavy coat would never do in hotter weather. The new leaf season meant an entirely new start for the woman too. Things were very different from where she came from before. Her maiden pack lived in a place with rolling green hills of grass and they were protected by the sea. But seeing as this was her current location, Ellen might as well get used to it all as quickly as possible. And so, that was what brought her to this place. She was an explorer on a mission.
The wetness of the defrosting did not seem to bother Ellen very much if one were to look at her. She was surefooted and agile as she always was it seemed. The Delta female pranced into the territory nonchalantly exploring what it had to offer her. Her gray eyes looked around here and there and everywhere before coming to rest on the dark male drinking water. For a moment, Ellen stopped in her tracks. She lifted her nose to the wind to scent the air before continuing. This was a wolf that she did not recognize and he was totally unfamiliar to her. The scents that Ellen picked up were a hodgepodge of different things, so she suspected that he had traveled several places before here. Well, that was interesting. She wondered if she should try to approach the ebony canine, or just mind her own business. Should she take a risk or just leave while she still had the chance? Nah. Since when did Ellen ever mind her own business? The correct answer to that question was rarely, if ever.
Padding farther into the ravine, the she wolf made her presence known immediately. She came within a few feet of her male counterpart and then waited near him. She did not want to interrupt his drinking though, that was a no no, so she let him finish before speaking to him. “Greetings to ye. Enjoying the water are we?”Ellen said in her strong accent, tail fanning the air a few times. The woman had no idea what the male’s temperament was like, or how he would respond to her whatsoever. But she was not going to judge him without giving him a chance. He seemed to be on his own which made Ellen wonder why, but she might potentially find out soon enough…if he decided to speak that is.

| H e couldn't help but draw his attention to something rather different from what he heard a few seconds ago. Footsteps. They interrupted the sounds that he heard around him of the water flowing and winds brushing through the leaves on the ground. Should they react aggressively to his presence he would have no issue snapping his head up to sort them in their place. But the footsteps stopped at a reasonable distance. Whoever this was he was about to see knew some boundaries and wren't some sort of wolf that thinks they can just walk up to anyone.
A distinguishing voice soon left the mouth of the individual. He smiled to himself at her question as he slowly raised his head to lay eyes upon the wolf who spoke to him. She was a fiery orange wolf, not quite red but more of a sandy colour. A well muscled wolf he must admit. "Greetings, I am. And I presume you came here to enjoy it yourself?" he asked with his deep voice and a relaxed tone. Ezra had no reason to act in an aggressive way, that would highlight to this wolf that he had a reason to be that way.
The scent of this female had him curious. Other wolf scents were present among her pelt and with the way she was built it was as if she was well fed. No lone wolf was able to constantly keep themselves fed up on elk. It was just whatever he could find these days, but the arrival of spring was a good sign. The more prey the better. The way she held herself and had no need to put her muscle on show, she represented some fighter of a sort. Maybe even a higher rank of the pack? Her confidence supported the idea.

ELLEN THREE • NIGHT SHADE DELTA • FEMALE | | Their meeting was off to a good start. It was nice just greeting one another and having a friendly conversation to shoot the breeze. So far it seemed like the need for vicious and malicious behavior was not present. If they could stay on friendly terms then that would be a plus. There was nothing like venturing to a new place only to be confronted with a difficult situation. Unpleasant would not even begin to describe an experience like that. Making an ally was the ideal situation. Not everything could be hunky dory all of the time, Ellen knew this. However, she hoped that this would be one of those times. She did not come here to fight, only to venture to a place that was different than before.
Ellen’s ears rotated on her head for a moment as she stood in her place. “I am also,” the she-wolf said, reciprocating the male’s first answer. “Just taking a little time out to enjoy the sunshine and all that it has to offer. What else brings ye here if you dinna mind my asking? Aside from the water I mean,” Ellen questioned, tilting her head slightly. He did not have to have an ulterior motive for being at the ravine. Many animals probably had a drink and were on their merry way. But there was a possibility for others things too. Take Ellen herself for instance. Sure she could sample the liquid lavations that the territory offered. But she wanted to see more too while she was at it. The she-wolf could return to the Night Shade pack lands a little later. As far as she knew no one would miss her quite yet. Perhaps if she stayed out a little longer than expected, then maybe someone would wonder. But Ellen was not close enough with any particular wolf yet in the pack for even that to happen.
