Name: Akitla
Age: 4 Years
Gender: Female
Pelt Description: Akitla has a pure white pelt, with speckles of silver fur lining her muzzle and the outer rim of her ears. Her tail is also semi-tipped with sliver. This colour scheme is what she was named after, Akitla meaning "Falling snow on water". Her eyes are a dark blue, almost black shade, and she has a long pelt, that is soft and fluffy in texture.
Personality:
Akitla is a fair wolf who believes strongly in honour and justice. However, she also believes in those values only applying to those who deserve it. Thus, she is the kind of wolf you would want mothering your pups, or protecting your clan, but not the kind of wolf you would want to meet in a forest at Sundown. She defends those she loves and those that she believes worthy of her defence with her life, fiercely protecting them, but she is also occasionally ruthless and cold towards those on the opposing side. Generally a graceful, calm wolf with plenty of poise, she moves around with her tail held high. This poise also translates itself into detachment and silent deadly precision on the battlefield, and her fighting abilities are both a strength and a terrifying weakness (because she is so heartless and indiscriminate on the battlefield, towards her enemies). However, she also has a soft spot for pups and apprentices, and treats them with motherly care and playful fun.
She is generally a responsible wolf, and performs her duties with pride. She also expects the same standards out of those whom she believes can achieve them, and will treat severely any failure that she sees as unnecessary and unwarranted. Exacting, cold and deadly, Akitla is still at heart a gentle wolf, at least to those she considers friends.
Primary Pack and Rank: NightShade (I'm not too sure about rank, but I would like a high rank if possible. What is the application process for such ranks? And based on Akitla's character, would there be a rank that would suit her for plotting purposes?)
History:
Akitla was born to two loners, Sorrine and Thorn. She lived with these loners deep in the forest, and as such the small family only noticed the appearance of a virus when humans started to become less and less frequent, and fear-scent started wafting off from those humans who did appear. Sorrine and Thorn, being opportunistic wolves, saw a chance to bypass the usually dangerous humans, and enter the town to obtain more prey for their family. Their ambition, though innocent at heart, blinded them to the dangers in the towns, as they moved closer and closer to human lands, the then 4-seasons-old Akitla trailing behind them.
When they finally reached the nearest town, they were struck by the scent of death and destruction coming from the town, but continued walking on, carefully keeping their paw-pads away from the rubble that lined the floor. The town had fallen into disrepair. Suddenly, they were met by a challenging bark, and a giant tawny wolf came loping towards them, teeth bared in a challenge. Without even bothering to ask questions, the strange wolf launched on Sorrine and Thorn, nipping and ripping at their flesh. Both parents, being unused to battle for anything that was not prey, quickly fell to the assault of the wolf. As they lay on the floor and bled out, the wolf met Akitla's eyes, before turning away with a derisive snort, whipping his tail in her face as he did.
It was only after the incident, as Akitla grew more street-wise, that she realised that her family had unwittingly intruded onto the land that the challenging wolf had won, and had thus been dispatched as enemies. Right then though, Akitla dropped her nose to her parents' sides, and lay down beside them. She stayed like this for what felt like an eternity, until her parents breathed their last shuddering breaths. Then, cold practicality took over, and Akitla slowly stood and wandered off.
She had decided from this event that the town was not a place of peace and joy for her. So, she headed back to her familiar forests. But she also knew that she could not bear to return to the forest that had brought her so many happy memories with her family. So, she carefully skirted the borders of what she could now scent as other wolves' territories, and loped off into the forest.
There, she spent many peaceful seasons, seasons that were tough, that challenged her beyond her abilities, but that also gained her strength and courage. Left on her own, without a pack to call hers, she was forced to learn the arts of hunting, or survival. Akitla was a fighter, and constantly attempted to take on bigger prey. Without the backup of a pack, she sometimes succeeded, and mostly failed. But the failures she took as learning opportunities, and made sure to groom herself into the best hunter she could be. These failures also gave her another skill, that of healing. That skill was not one she enjoyed, or one she was particularly adept at, but it kept her alive, and that was enough. When she had free time, she would also practice battle, miming moves on her own, and occasionally fighting the odd rouge that came by. As a result of never having learnt battle techniques from any pack, her battle skills soon became deadly and dangerous, because no one expected the strange moves that she came up with.
After many moons, she eventually returned to the city, thirsting for revenge. Tracking down the wolf who had killed her parents, Akitla challenged him to battle. Despite being old and slightly worn-down, the other wolf still put up a good fight. After a long and bloody battle, Akitla emerged victor. She carefully disposed of the corpse, not wanting to leave any trail behind, before padding back out of the city and back into the forest. There, she spent a few more moons, until one day she scented the scent of a pack of wolves.
Akitla decided to join that pack of wolves on a whim, knowing that she needed a family once again. Tracking down their camp, she sprinted through their territory and broke into the camp, where she stood proud and indicated her desire to join the pack. Interested by her poise and strength, the Alpha decided to allow her in.
Akitla was determined, after that, to make herself useful and worthy to the pack. So, she threw herself into pack life, and soon found herself coming to love her pack more than anything. And it was there, as a loyal wolf to the pack, that Akitla found her home.
