open your eyes When the past came knocking, Lapis preferred not to answer. It was places like these– structures like these that brought back memories of the places she'd been and the things she'd done. None wretchedly deplorable of course, but none worthy of praise either. Her past wasn't something she was proud of, but at the same time, she did what she had to in order to survive. It wasn't as if Lapis had any other choice than to live the life she did. A life of lies and deception. Taking and taking and taking, never once giving back. Things were different now, though, right? I'm not the wolf I used to be. The tall grass tickled the Beta's legs as she padded through the ruins, admiring the handiwork lost in time with a sense of both curiosity and dread. It was beautiful, incredible, magnificent, and that's what made it so terrifying. Lapis didn't know much about the humans, other than the plague they released upon this dying world. It was funny; looking at such gorgeous, intricate handiwork, she would've never imagined the beings behind it were capable of the mass desolation brought upon their own species. They were fools. Perched upon a high stone wall, Lapis gazed out upon the grassy plains below. The ruins didn't exactly give a bird's eye view, but it was more than enough for her to scan the nearby area in search of any herds that may be returning for the newly blooming season. Prey had been scarce throughout the winter, and the last thing she wanted was a squabble between the packs over something as simple as the absence of prey. That, and, well... she'd be lying if she said she wasn't a tad bit famished herself.

E U R I E L L E I think | I speak
Today was no different from yesterday, The tree's were still barren, stripped of their leaves from the icy winters that cascaded amongst the vast landscape. Alone as always Eurielle's journey within these woodlands seemed never ending. Hungry and now fatigued, Eurielle was beginning to lose patience, but no matter - the she wolf was easily distracted and her thoughts disappeared within an instance, especially when food came to mind. Alas a scent was brought to her nostrils, and the queen inhaled deeply, Though this scent was not of prey, but of canine. A wolf to be exact, and luckily for Eurielle she was headed straight for them.
Bounding around alike that of an excitable pup, Eurielle's pace increased and now she was striding towards the source of the scent. It was a rather potent smell, and it reminded her of her old friends in which she left behind to begin anew, a saddened gaze flickered its way across an emotionless face, and just seconds later a mischievous curl of blackened lips revealed her sharp ivory incisors. A failed attempt at smiling some would say, Nevertheless there she stood. A female with a similar - yet lighter toned coat to her own. The long lacy strands of hair on her back began creeping upwards as her fur bristled, Her stance altered slightly, and her pose adjusted, Eurielle was cautious.
Despite this she wolf seeming harmless, one wrong move and the lassie knew it could cost her, her life. Although fearless, she began to study the female, And her overall examination of the stranger was - Beautiful, and pure as porcelain. A trophy just waiting to be swept up be her prince charming. Blue beady eyes poked out of the females scull to reveal an emotion of softness, though it was clear Eurielle had yet to be noticed by this stranger.
Her aura was quite dreamy, and this female seemed to be minding her own business. If anything she was just venturing out, probably scouting her packs boarders for any signs of intrusion - Which put Eurielle in a place of subordination. Could this be one of the founding members of the two packs that the female had heard so little about? The question still stood unanswered, was she of Night Shade or Silver Mist?
Impatience began to tickle at Eurielle's gut thus she proceeded to emit her presence. Her tail flickered beneath her hind, proving that Eurielle had no sadistic intentions. She was neutral, and Eurielle only hoped that a friendship would birth from this spontaneous encounter. Hello there? Her voice was soft, and it almost had a nervous jitter to it.

open your eyes In her seemingly boundless search for prey, Lapis found something else. Cinnamon ears flickered as the new scent lingered in the still chilly spring breeze, foreign yet familiar. Not what she'd been looking for, but perhaps a worthy encounter nonetheless. Steady in her position atop the mossy stone, Lapis peered out with piercing sapphire eyes, a pique of curiosity hidden behind unwavering waters of blue. Caution was a sixth sense to her now, and after her previous mishap at the ravine, the Beta made it a point to keep her guard up whenever she left Nightshade territory. I won't be embarrassed a second time. The thought alone of her failures being displayed to another like they had before... no, that would definitely not be happening again, Lapis swore her very life on it. Never again. When the stranger revealed herself ‒ a female, her pelt painted in shades of the earth ‒ Lapis gazed at her with a stern look that might've come across harsher than intended. When it came to those outside her pack, all were guilty until proven innocent; she would not take any chances. Hackles raised slightly, Lapis kept her guard up, analyzing each of the female's actions in silence as she approached. She didn't seem to harbor any ill intent, her tail swaying to and fro as if she were here to meet a friend. Lapis relaxed herself, if only a bit, her expression no longer as cold as the air that held within it whispers of winters past. "Greetings." Lapis offered, her voice smooth as she upheld her cool composure. "You're a member of Silvermist, are you not?" The scent was one she'd encountered a few times before, each a very... unique figure, not the type of wolf one would forget. This female didn't appear to be like the other two, though. She had a more friendly demeanor, a gentle aura that came through in her soft words. Well, wolves aren't always who they seem to be, and to Lapis, this girl was a stranger yet. "What are you doing all the way out here?" Alone?

Alas her presence was noticed, the female's sapphire eyes gleamed as they gazed towards her, examining every brief movement. The echo's of the wind we're as eerie as ever, and to Elle, it made their encounter even more enthralling, she was a captivating specimen, and although steady on her feet, she too was cautious of Eurielle. In a way it was like staring at her own reflection, only their eyes and their slight pelt hues were different. Along with her comparison, their personalities seemed very similar, and despite being one of the Silver Mist pack members - Their Delta to be exact, she posed no threat, and this in turn was rebounded.
Upon her ambiguous inquiry, the female replied, and simply asked her whether or not she was a member of Silver Mist, This was then followed by a cautious, simplified question as to why she was here alone, and so far out from pack territory. Ears perked as she listened to her delicate words. Now knowing of this she wolf's curiosity, with a breath of fresh air Elle in turn replied; Yes, I am of Silver Mist - Tell me, how did you know? She paused briefly before continuing; The names Eurielle, I am one of the most recent Silver Mist members. I don't get out much, and when I do I tend to venture off quite the distance away. Everyone loves a good expedition, no? Ears flickered once more, her stance relaxed, though she still stood cautious; Pardon me, I didn't quite catch your name princess?

open your eyes In Lapis' opinion, she'd been running into members of Silver Mist far too often for her own liking. It seemed as though they were everywhere all at once; lurking in every corner, nook, and cranny of the lands outside of her own pack's territory. "This isn't the first time I've run into a member of your pack." The Beta explained, a hint of distaste in her voice as she recalled the encounters. All of their scents intermingled into one distinct smell that hung in the air all around the earthen female, just as it did the others. "It's happened a few times now, actually." Eurielle. Lapis repeated in her mind, noting it down on her mental list of Silver Mist members that seemed to litter the territories. It was a nice name, one that rolled off the tongue with ease and elegance. "Brett and Hosi. Do either of those names ring a bell?" She wouldn't have considered either of them pleasant company, but they did each leave a strong impression in one way or another. Eurielle did mention she was fairly new to her pack, so Lapis didn't expect a particularly fond recognition of the names she spoke, but hey, it was worth a shot for the sake of conversation. "Everyone loves a good expedition, no?" For a brief moment, Lapis gazed out at the view settled down before them, considering the validation of Eurielle's statement. It was nice. Gorgeous, even, and if she hadn't made the decision to step out of Night Shade territory, she wouldn't have found it. "You're not wrong there," Lapis admitted, the hint of a smile tugging at the edges of her mouth. "careful in venturing far from home, though, you don't want to get lost." Lapis delivered the teasing jab with a somewhat mischievous tone, albeit short lived as it was soon masked by her usual nonchalant demeanor. Princess, hmm? With the life she'd lived, Lapis would consider herself the complete opposite of so, but the sentiment was much appreciated. "My name is Lapis," She began, her tail slowly swaying behind her. "Lapis Vessalius of Night Shade, at your service."

E U R I E L L E I think | I speak
In a way, today was like a dream. Was this really happening? And had she really come across another wolf other than her fellow pack mates? Amused by her ridiculous thoughts a smile crept it was atop of her maw, For now Elle relaxed her composure, her mind was now tranquil. Lapis, the female introduced herself, contently, and this made her all the more interesting now. She included that coming across SIlver Mist members was something she seemed to do daily, meaning Eurielle was not the first to come across this enchantress. Which was strange, only due to the fact she knew Silver Mist had hardly any members left.
Silver Mist had seemed awful quiet upon Eurielle joining, and this worried her ever so slightly. For now she knew of her Alpha Ez, but he had not been around for a few days - So she figured he went out patrolling, and maybe went that little distance more? Although the pack was quiet, she was overjoyed to be accepted within the pack, let along be elected their Delta Female - though she had no reign over anyone, not yet anyway.
Lapis queried Elle about two particular members of Silver Mist, Brett & Hosi - Hosi was their previous Alpha, alongside Remi but surely Lapis knew of their disappearance which was only recently? But Brett, Eurielle knew nothing about, nor had she seen him around Silver Mist territory. Hosi? Have you not heard? He and Remi went out scouting around two weeks or so ago, but never returned. Their disappearance is still a mystery to us, however I'm keen to know exactly what happened to them. She paused briefly before continuing; And Brett? I'm not familiar with the name, sorry. For now Ezrihel has taken reign, but he has also been slightly distant as of lately. I fear the pack may fall apart. I have also been elected the new Delta Female of Silver Mist
Eurielle lowered her head in dismay with the thought, Now she was a part of a family, she wanted them to become larger than ever. She was willing to lend her paw in recruiting loners, but she'd prefer to have Ezrihel by her side when doing so, as he had more authority than she did when regarding new recruits. Not only that, he knew the area more than she did - He would know where to look. Reverting her gaze back upon Lapis, she shook her head in attempt to disregard any negligent thoughts.
Anyway, Its lovely to meet you Lapis, She responded, a dip of her crown followed to allow a sense of acknowledgement. Her words were quickened as she tried to change the subject; Have you heard about this band of loners? That's supposedly attempting to create a pack of sinful warriors? Words: - 460 Tag: - Beta Lapis Note/s: I saw the announcement, and after reading through It I thought it would be a good idea to begin hinting things about Remi & Hosi's disappearance within role-play. Hope you don't mind!

open your eyes Their... disappearance? For a brief moment, Lapis was taken aback by the statement. "You're joking, right?" The way Eurielle delivered the information didn't seem to be a lie, and yet Lapis couldn't bring herself to believe it. Both the Alpha and the Alphess missing? It was peculiar, it was bizarre, it was... uncanny. The Beta had seen the way Hosi hunted, the way his very muscles rippled as he carried himself with such overbearing dominance. Was there truly another out there who would've been able to take him down? "Have you any leads?" Lapis didn't appreciate such morbid lies, but there was something about Eurielle; her eyes, her voice, something that told her it was the truth. She'd never met Remi, not personally, but to lead Silver Mist, she must have been decently strong herself. So what the hell happened? Mouth pursed together in a thin line, Lapis listened as Eurielle revealed the current state of their pack; a family on the brink of falling apart. She drank in the information, committing the important details to memory as she would need to later report to Onyx. "Congratulations on your promotion," Lapis offered, her tone somewhat implying condolences as she continued. "I'm sorry it couldn't have been under better circumstances." Things had changed so suddenly and all at once. It was true that Night Shade hadn't heard from Silver Mist in a while, other than the run-ins she'd had the past few weeks. What was going on behind closed doors? And more importantly, what was to come in the near future? Lapis held no immediate bonds to any members in Silver Mist; more so, she feared for her own pack. If there was someone‒ some thing out there powerful enough to subdue two high ranking wolves, two Alphas, she didn't want it anywhere near her newfound family. "All the same to you, Eurielle." At first she'd been somewhat distant towards the female, unwilling to submerge herself in conversation and a tad bit annoyed that her outing had brought her to yet another Silver Mist wolf, but things took a much more interesting turn than she'd expected. The subject was changed, yet it brought up even more questions than answers. "I've heard rumors, yes. It's hard to discern what's true and what isn't, but for the sake of both packs, I pray it false." Each rumor had slightly varying details, though the concept was the same: the uprising of the unaligned, the exiled and those who thirst for chaos and destruction. "Have you had any encounters yourself?"
